Fertilize Late Summer and Early Fall

Late summer and early fall are the best times to fertilize shrubs and trees. At this point in the year, woody plants make the most efficient use of the fertilizer’s nutrients, which are absorbed when the roots are actively growing and shoot growth has ceased. Research has shown that early-spring growth depends almost exclusively on nutrients that were absorbed and stored the previous year.

America's 132 Million Homes

How Old Are They Now? The median age of a home built in the United States is 40. In 1974, when those houses were built, interest rates on 30 year fixed mortgages averaged 9.1%, but the median existing home price was only $32,000!

Even though our doors have been open since October, our Official Open House was last week on April 17th. The turnout and the enormous amount of support from our friends and family was awe-inspiring! A homeowner’s exemption is a program that reduces property taxes for individuals who own and occupy their home as their primary residence.  By reducing the net taxable value of the home and up to one acre of land by 50%, maximum $83,920 for 2014.  This maximum reduction is adjusted annually using the House Pricing Index for Idaho (HPI) published by the Federal Housing Finance Agency .

You must own and occupy, as well as apply for the exemption by April 15th of the year you are applying with the county assessor’s office.
